Honor Announces its First Foldable Phone

Technology brand Honor has announced the launch of the Honor Magic V, the first 5G flagship foldable smartphone powered by the new Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Featuring an ultra-thin floating water hinge, a wider external display, and the latest Magic UI 6.0, the smartphone will be available in China.

“We are delighted to launch the first 5G foldable Honor Magic V, which demonstrates our expertise and innovation in system design and our commitment to always providing the best-in-class user experience.” George Chow, CEO of Honor Device Co, Ltd. “Honor has strong ambitions to become the top performing smartphone brand in the luxury foldable market and we are confident that our first flagship foldable phone will be very competitive compared to current models.”

Built with advanced Waterdrop hinge technology, the Magic V has a 6.45-inch, 44-degree curved OLED screen when folded, achieving a 21.3:9 aspect ratio. The screen functions like a traditional smartphone, rather than appearing tall and narrow. The smartphone unfolds into an ultra-wide 7.9″ wrinkle-free display, providing a tablet-like experience that’s perfect for viewing content, multitasking, and boosting productivity while working.
